Weeping May Endure For A Night

"Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning"
Psalms 30:5
I go about my usual activities, trying to live life as it should be.
And in my heart, I am not completely hurting.
Yet my spirit knows how sad I am after losing you big bro.
I will continue to miss you and I will always love you.
RIP Brian Anthony Richardson Sr.

I want to formally apologize for yet another extended absence. I really haven't been in a blogging mood for about a month. I was even questioning the validity of my blog. However, after my brother passes and seeing how passionate he was about music (he was a DJ and played the drums), it made me realize something. I have the same passion for music and fashion. And if you have a passion for it, then put your heart into it.
I know I usually do a poem, and I will be back to that during my next post, but I want to take this time out to thanks each and every of my 114 followers, my friends and family who check the blog out, and even people who I don't know that check it out. Words can't express who thankful I am to be able to have friends like you all, because you are all friends and family in my eyes. I am not trying to be famous or become this high paid blogger. I just want to show off my style and write some poetry and share my thoughts on runway style. And it makes me happy that you all share my vision, even a tiny bit :)
So, what does that mean for SJR Styling? It means that I will be making a huge effort to blog as much as possible. How I dress here started out being just my creativity and me wanting to take photos of it, but wearing the same jeans and t-shirts to school. However, I am going to bring out the fierce woman in these photos and let her live through me. That means that this fierceness will be exposed to the world haha. Hope they are ready for it in my town, because they can be so close minded.
Well, I'm not gonna bore you anymore with my reflections. Basically I just want to say I'm alive, I'm doing ok, and I will be back to my regularly scheduled programming. I am also going to be more free when it comes to my blog. Let you all get to know me personally, meaning it might be random at times haha. If you read my rant, thanks so much! Keep me in your prayers as I get back on track.

Wearing a thrifted multicolored sequin jacket, thrifted black sequin top, Wet Seal dark rinse high rise skinny jeans, Target black round toe pumps, Old Navy gold satchel, Family Dollar black turban hat, Forever 21 red jewel bangle, Walmart black men's watch, random brand gold bow ring, and Forever 21 brown and gold jewel ring

I will be doing a tribute post to my brother soon. I feel like he always encouraged me in every venture I was doing so it's only right that I remember him in my own way.

Don't take life for granted. Don't sweat the small stuff, because we never know when it will be our time to go. Live, love, and laugh!

Peace, Love, and Happiness!

  1. Sarah,
I am so sorry for your loss, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I know this must be difficult times but I'm so glad to hear that you will continue on with your blog because your poetry & fashion is unique and inspiring!

  2. Hey Sarah,
I am very sorry to hear read about your brother. I'm glad that you will continue blogging. Why questioning yourself? I think you got balls for dressing the way you want and making pictures in front of your door while everyone is looking at you as if you lost your mind.

    Keep doing what you love!

  3. Oh, Sarah. I'm so so sorry. Reading the first part of this post breaks my heart, I know where you are. I know words don't help, there's nothing that can replace it, but keep yourself surrounded by his memory and love. It's so important. It's one of the only ways I have started to begin healing from a loss I had in September.

You are a beautiful person inside and out, and I am glad that in this tragedy you have found your passion.

  4. You look fantastic :-)!!! The hat is as though it was made for you.

I too, had an extended absence and am just getting back into the swing of things. I've just recently felt the blow of yet another anniversary of my dad's death so I know that lingering feeling of missing someone close . . . keep blogging, glad to see you back! xxx
