Today I am posting for Runway My Way Friday. I haven't been able to take new photos yet because my schedule is so packed. But I do want to give you guys something to show:
1. I'm not dead and
2. I haven't forgotten you all.

Today's Runway My Way post comes from Charlotte Ronson's Spring 2011 Ready To Wear collection. This collection reminds me of the 90s, a decade where I grew up from a child to a middle schooler. I was always aware of what was "cool", looking up to my sister for her hip-hop style. But I also knew of the other end of the music/fashion spectrum....grunge. This collection mixes grunge with feminine, ver reminiscent of the teenage girls who rebelled against the "Chers" and "Dionnes" of the 90s. With elements like plaid shirts and combat boots combined with feminine dresses and sheer fabrics, you can tell that this collection is something that isn't just a 90s cliche, but something people can wear today and forward.

The look I decided to recreate was one that definitely combined grunge and feminine, Look 12.

This is how my look came out:

Sorry today's Runway My Way post is so late. Blogger was not working properly, which really messed up the flow of my day.

Today's look comes from Balenciaga. I adored how punk rocker chic the Spring/Summer 2011 Ready-To-Wear collection was. From the red and black leather to the spiky hair of the models to the lace up flats (reminiscent of Doc Marten's), this collection screamed punk girl gone glam.

There were many looks that I enjoyed, but one really stuck out to me as a mixture of androgyny, sexiness, and punk rock...Look 9.

This is how my recreation turned out:

It's back! Runway My Way is starting again with Spring/Summer 2011 runways look. After viewing almost all of the runway show photos on Style.com, I picked select looks to recreate from now up until August. So, to begin, let's look at 3.1. Phillip Lim.

3.1. Phillip Lim is a line that has taken pride in providing clean cut, polished sportswear looks that can be worn even after the season has changed. For this collection, he provided looks that were not only versatile but unique in their own way. From bright blue to neutrals to black, the color palette is easily transitional, while the shapes are also timeless. The key distinct factor is the use of layers. The ensembles were put together almost like puzzles, with two or more layers to them. By using add-on collars, the looks became sophisticated and slightly preppy.

The look I chose to recreate is Look #34
I felt that this was simple yet the add-on colar and bag added a little more depth to the look. So, here's how I recreated the look with my own wardrobe:
