Hello everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for a couple days, I had a jam packed weekend. But before I go into that, let's talk about the ensemble for today. I didn't realize it until I was listing the items in my ensemble that the main parts of it were vintage. It just shows how great vintage pieces can be worn together without looking too retro :) I am going to a poetry slam tonight and plan on wearing the same shirt but making it more dressy for evening. I will definitely take pictures so you can see it :) The bag is new from this weekend. I went to Marshall's with my mom to find some sneakers for a retreat I went on Sunday, but ended up getting this bag, a pair of espadrilles, and some sandals for Amerie (silver and strappy, she's so spoiled). I ended up having to go to the mall to get some Pumas for the retreat.

Speaking of the retreat, I will tell you how that went. It was a leadership retreat with the multicultural mentor program I am apart of, as well as our campus activities board members attending. The retreat had two sections. One section involved activities around the site where we were at, including balancing and teamwork games. The second part involved a rope course that began at 10 feet in the air and ended at a 30 ft. post where you then zip line down to the ground. There's no safety net, all you have is your ropes with clips on them to attach to the wires, the wires themselves (one holding you, others used for the elements to get to each post), and the ropes used to help you move along on some of the elements. We had helmets which would not prevent any damage involving you falling if the rope gives out. Oh, did I mention I signed a waiver relieving them of any responsibility if I DIED! Yea, I was scared crapless. I mean, I am deathly afraid of heights, but I knew I needed to get over my fear. So, with the help of my partner, we both made it to the zip line and one by one, we zip lined down to the ground. It was so refreshing and euphoric just letting go of my fears like that. I don't think I'll do it again anytime soon, but if given money to do so, I would definitely try it.

With that being said, I would like to thank everyone for their comments on my inspiration post. I know I'm not the most creative on "paper" but I hope to let my inhibitions go not just with my styling, but with my own personal style as well. Here's a photo of Amerie and I when we went shopping on Saturday! Following that is the song of the day. I have been learning to "Wig" and "Jook" which are dances in Florida. I've been listening to this group for about 2 years, and I just love their swag :) The song of the day is "Tonight" by Da Pretty Boyz.
