My Prayer

Dear Lord, I am not perfect.
You are the only perfect entity I know.
I am calling on you to deliver the evil within me
For I cannot do this alone.

Lord, I am broken, inside my heart is trying to heal.
I want to love freely but can't.
I want to live happily but feel too sad.
I want laugh joyfully, but have nothing to laugh about.
Lord, as I take this journey to find myself again
I ask that you keep me in your arms and hold me close
Please, don't let me forget where I have come from
As i journey to become the person you created me to be.
Lord, I ask not for all of the riches in the world
I ask not for the perfect physical features
I ask not for any materia things.
Lord, all I want is for you to take all of my burdens away.
In Your Name I pray, Amen.

I am a Christian. I believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost/Spirit. I am never one to push my beliefs on other, but I feel strength every time I can express my religion without hearing backlash. Yes, I cuss. Yes, I had a child out of wedlock. And yes, I have done some things in my past that I am not rpoud of. But what I do know is that as long as I put my faith in Him, I will be ok.

Everyone has their own religious beliefs and I ask that you freely express them here. I am not some Bible toting, Holy Water slinging Christian. I know what's in my heart, but I also accept all religions as important. Without diversity, we would all be clones, and what's the fun in being then same?

On another note, I have been feeling a tad depressed. Some things have happened recently that really brought me down for a little while. But then, I stated listening to some of my favorite gospel songs about overcoming your problems. I realized that my small problem is nothing compared to the problems of others. And though I may feel sad, I have to keep moving forward.

Thanks for the new followers, as well as comments on my posts. If you have Chictopia, I am on there as well :) All of my social networking sites are on the sidebar :)

Hope you all have an amazing Wednesday!

Peace, Love, and Happiness!

If you are feeling depressed, just remember to smile :)

  1. THIS IS LONG so I apologize in advance!!

    2 Corinthians 4: 8 to 9 (NIV)
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. We are preserved not pickled!

This means that ” We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken.

When the sailors of old faced the worst of the storms, they would call out to encourage one another with this statement of faith, “Hold fast”. When the wave buffeted against them and the winds howled and the storm raged, and it seemed like everything was against them, they would call out, “hold fast”. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:13 to 14 (NIV) “and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then”.
My friend, at times we may feel like we are going through the mill, and we are having a hard time. That is the time you need to hear these words “Hold fast! For the storm will not last forever.”

Notice that no matter what life throws at you, no matter the circumstance, there is a “But not” from God, but not crushed, but not in despair, but not forsaken, but not destroyed! - Because God is an awesome God. We are preserved not pickled!

Remember the words of the Apostle Paul from 2 Corinthians 4: 8 to 9 (NIV)
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

No matter what we face, no matter how difficult the storms of life, it will not last forever, we will be preserved not pickled. Because if God be for us who can stand against us? Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. You must be careful to guard your heart and mind. Do not keep the company of negative influences in your life. Surround yourself with positive influences! You are on the right track turning this situation over to God. He said in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Don’t feel guilty about your past. If you feel like you have recently sinned against the Lord then repent. No one who loves God can sin and feel guiltless. Once we genuinely repent for our sin against God guilt and shame should no longer have a place in us. Initial guilt is good because that guilt will many times lead to repentance. Once you have asked God for forgiveness however you are no longer guilty before God and any thought to the contrary is from the enemy. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Stay in prayer and I will pray for you too. Remember what those of old say…no prayer..no power…much prayer…much power! God’s word is what keeps us going and how we stay strong against the enemy. You are only as strong as what you put in!! Stay encouraged in the Lord girl! God bless you my friend, Nekiah
